![]() We ordered the Beyond Brilliance bouquet (about $65 at the time), which looked very similar to its supplied photo (the lilies looked slightly different, as was the color of the wooden vase). Several companies fulfill their orders using local florists, but as far as we could find, BloomNation is the only one that lets you pick which florist you’d like to use, along with photos supplied by the actual florist creating the arrangement. UrbanStems remains on our radar as a potentially excellent service that we'll continue to monitor. ![]() UrbanStems has added a $15 to $20 shipping fee since our original review that fee isn’t unlike the one from our new top pick, The Bouqs Company, but for the price, we were hoping for fresher, more-beautiful flowers, and a more universally reliable service. That being said, The Juliet was attractive and developed prettily over a few days. But, for around $90 we got just three slightly rumpled roses and a whole lot of filler-tons more aster and smaller lisianthus than the website picture suggests. To be sure the issue wasn’t just with sourcing flowers in a specific bouquet, we ordered The Juliet in early 2023, which arrived on-time to New York, Los Angeles, and Portland. All of the ten roses that made it to Portland, Maine had brownish edges or a few flopping petals, and the filler-drooping lavender springs, a few branches of eucalyptus, and large green leaves with an odd white-ish cast-was less than inspired. For no discernible reason, The Macchiato, a lovely collection of muted peach-tone roses, was not available to ship to Los Angeles. We’ll keep an eye on feedback in various cities as we continue to conduct additional tests.īut when we went to retest in December 2022, we had a different experience. Since Teleflora uses local florists, your experience may vary depending on the shop that puts your bouquet together, but our experiences were nothing but positive. Perhaps because they arrived by hand, arranged in their vase rather than packaged for shipping, the flowers looked vibrant for a full week. Teleflora offers the option of including a 180-character message, and it came typed on a small, cute card inserted on a plastic, fork-like spoke. This service also allows you to send flowers to a Canadian address, something we didn’t see often during our research. ![]() It was a vote of confidence in favor of the network of trusted, upscale vendors Teleflora uses in less-familiar cities. In 2022, the Citrus Kissed bouquet that our Portland, Maine–based staffer received came via the best and fanciest florist in town, and it looked downright expensive, swapping baby’s breath for drapey fronds and adding in pert tulips and chrysanthemums. Though you don’t need a membership to order flowers from Costco, nonmembers pay a 5% surcharge, which we consider nominal. Generally, pricing is roughly 30% lower than most other services we considered and, unlike many, shipping is usually included. We’ll keep evaluating the ordering process for future updates. The website is straightforward to use however, during our 2022 testing, one of our Costco orders was canceled twice before it finally went through-a fluky, unexplained issue that, while annoying, ultimately didn’t prevent us from recommending this service. Just keep in mind that Costco does not deliver Saturday through Monday, which means it may not be the best service for last-minute or weekend flower needs. Costco ships its flowers via different carriers, depending on location, and it sometimes offers next-day delivery on certain bouquets. The floral arrangements from Costco aren’t as modern or stylish as those offered by The Bouqs Company, but they are pretty in a traditional way, and most of them cost far less than offerings from other services. Add to that reliable delivery, a clean, easy-to-use website, and the fact that it offers three price options (akin to small, medium, and large) for each bouquet, and you really won’t find a better delivery service. The flowers from The Bouqs Company just looked better, even to casual observers. Our west coast recipient’s arrangement looked nearly identical to the two deliveries we ordered to the east coast-and when the bouquet arrived at our New York City photo studio, our unwitting photo team was unanimous in blind-identifying it as our new top pick. Usually a few bruised buds, rumpled petals, or wilted stems is an unfortunate, if inevitable, part of receiving a flower delivery from a national chain, but our arrangements from The Bouqs Company were flawless and startlingly consistent. ![]() ![]() The primary blooms were accented with botanical stems-snap dragons, berries, confetti-like craspedia-that presented like lovely flowers, not a bunch of artless filler like on many other bouquets we tried. Our testers were nothing short of delighted with the flowers they received from The Bouqs Company. ![]()
